Just a fellow science fan. I'm 54, live in the Portland, Or. area, and have worked on industrial boilers and boiler control systems for many years. Enjoy learning new things and passing on things I have learned. I have been on here for years but not as a member so my joining is way overdue. I'm a member of eteRNA, a crowd sourced game where the players contribute to the development of the worlds largest synthetic RNA database. It is a collaboration of Stanford and Carnegie Mellon University. If your going to play a game why not contribute to science? :-)

I found this forum cause I was searching on Google if it's common for physics student to feel like they're in the wrong major in the first semester cause it feels like too much for me to learn the materials even the ones that are considered as "basic math" or "basic physics", I've initial fascination with the universe's mysteries and it disconnect with the reality of intense, foundational mathematics courses required...
Hi there! This is Vmax, an old (relatively, but the profession can definitively accelerate aging) aerospace engineer now returning to physics in my 50s. I can definitively use some help in refreshing long forgotten topics and guidance in tackling new challenging subjects in modern physics. I'm looking forward to engaging in interesting, informative and stimulating conversations with you all. Have a great day!
