What is the Confusion Over Packing Fraction?

hey everyone. looking forward to exposure to new ideas and challenging the old ones, a lot of mind boggling questions, sort of adds to the fun i think and of course, DISCUSSIONS. got a question in a thread titled confusion over packing fraction, if you guys could look it up and offer any help, i'd be grateful. thanks in advance.
