What is the Purpose of PF and How Can It Help Me Learn About Physics?

Hello, all. I have been using PF for about 6 months now, but just noticed I had never posted an introduction.
I am currently a PhD student in Applied Mathematics researching electromagnetic scattering applications. My knowledge about physics in general is rather limited, so I am looking to learn more by reading and working problems posted in the homework forums.

Hello everyone, I'm Cosmo. I'm an 18 years old student majoring in physics.
