SUMMARY

The General GRE score consists of three independent sections: Verbal, Quantitative, and Analytical Writing. In this discussion, the user reported scores of 590 in Verbal, 630 in Quantitative, and 5.0 in Analytical Writing. The total score is not a simple sum of the individual scores, as the GRE does not combine them into a single total score. Instead, each section is evaluated separately, and the user confirmed that the GRE scores are considered independently.

So I got 590 on Verbal, 630 on Quantitative, and 5.0 on Analytical writing. Would my total score be 1220, or 1225?

At least when I took the GRE the scores are considered independently. I don't ever recall discussing a GRE score "as a whole."
