Already New Year in Kiritimati and Christmas Island
Tuesday, January 1, 2013 at 6:48 AM

5:48 am in NZ, and 3:48 in E. Australia

1:48 am in Tokyo and Seoul

12:48 am in Taipei and Manila.

Happy New Year folks!

I'll stick with my standard new year prediction:
2013 will be an average year. Better than 2014, but worse than 2012.

I wonder how many 'end of the world' events we will have in 2013.

Here's to 2013 being better than 2012. Stay safe tonight folks!

2013 will be a great year. Better than 2012, and worse than 2014.

I went out briefly to the pub tonight, just to be sure I that voiced my spite for the new year. <Pumping fists up at the sky for no apparent reason.>

I suppose should qualify that: it has nothing to do with all that 2012 end-of-world nonsense. This is just something I do every year.

Good point. Let's look at the data. 2012 was better than 2011, 2011 was better than 2010. As I look back, I see a pattern. In fact the day I was born was the worst day of my life, so I predict that the day I die will be the best.
