Hello, people of PF :)
I've spent a good deal of time looking for helpful physics websites, and I am impressed with the civility that goes on in these forums. It's rare that people on the internet are so friendly to one another...
Anyway, it's nice to be a member now. I'm a little bit of a late bloomer. Didn't take maths or physics in high school, and just graduated from a music degree. Now at 22, despite still loving music, I've found that a music career isn't really for me. I plan on taking some short courses (and studying intensively) over the next year and applying for a BS in physics in 2016. I have some self-doubt (mainly because of my age and lack of maths knowledge), but I'm also very excited to learn more about the universe.
I look forward to being a part of this community :)

Hey there, best luck with your work!

Hello everyone, I was advised to join this community while seeking guidance on how to navigate the academic world as an independent researcher. My name is Omar, and I'm based in Groningen The Netherlands. My formal physics education ended after high school, but I have dedicated the last several years to developing a theoretical framework from first principles. My work focuses on a topological field theory (which I call Swirl-String Theory) that models particles as knotted vortex...
