Users are seeking downloadable versions of Maple and Mathematica software, with Mathematica's full price around $1800 and a student edition available for $140. Concerns about whether the student version is a "dumbed down" version are addressed, with clarification that it retains full functionality but may have a temporary license and watermark. Maple's student edition costs $99 and is equivalent to the pro version, though the pro version may include additional manuals. Users are directed to the official websites for both software for more details and purchasing options.
Hi all, I'm currently searching for downloadable maple/mathematica software, do any of you know where I could go online to find one? If I were to buy one, how much would it typically cost?
but if you're a student, its $140... which makes me wonder if its a dumbed down version or something... even though nothing seems dumbed down when I use it.
Student edition downloaded is $99 US. It's the same as the pro version, but I think the pro version comes with more manuals and costs more (I don't know offhand how much more). There's also a limited term license for less cash.
iirc the student version of mathematica has the same functionality as the full one, but your license is temporary and i think it prints a watermark. Their website should know all:
As you can see from the image here, when I graph the 2d graph of y = 5sin(1/x), it comes out like I'd expect. However, when I graph it in a 3d graph, it doesn't look right at all. Can someone tell me why it isn't displaying right, or is it and I'm just missing something when I add the z axis?
