    Ising model Model
AI Thread Summary
The discussion centers on the Ising model, particularly the 2D variant, where the correlation length diverges as temperature approaches the critical point. A reference to Baxter's book is provided, which offers exact solutions for both 1D and 2D Ising models, though the derivations are complex. It is noted that there are no exactly solved 3D Ising models available. The conversation highlights the interest in obtaining precise results related to the Ising model. Understanding these models is essential for insights into statistical mechanics.

is there any reference on ising model

i would like to see all the exact results on ising model

for 2d ising model, the correlation length diverge as t to -1 around the critical temperature

how is this result derived?

Take a look at the book by Baxter, https://www.amazon.com/dp/0486462714/?tag=pfamazon01-20. It solves the 1d and 2d Ising models exactly, as well as many other statistical mechanical models. Be warned, though, the solutions are quite involved for most of these models! (Also, there are no exactly solved 3d models, in case you were wondering).

Hello! Let's say I have a cavity resonant at 10 GHz with a Q factor of 1000. Given the Lorentzian shape of the cavity, I can also drive the cavity at, say 100 MHz. Of course the response will be very very weak, but non-zero given that the Loretzian shape never really reaches zero. I am trying to understand how are the magnetic and electric field distributions of the field at 100 MHz relative to the ones at 10 GHz? In particular, if inside the cavity I have some structure, such as 2 plates...
