Sigh...20:00 GMT, That will be 1:30 AM over here
The discussion revolves around the upcoming Physics Forums Quiz scheduled for October 2, 2011. Participants discuss the quiz format, rules, and timing across different time zones, while also engaging in light-hearted banter about the event.
Participants generally agree on the excitement surrounding the quiz, but there is significant disagreement and confusion regarding the correct timing across various time zones, particularly concerning Daylight Saving Time.
Participants rely on different sources for time zone information, leading to inconsistencies in their understanding of Daylight Saving Time effects. Some assumptions about the quiz's timing may not align due to these discrepancies.
Members interested in participating in community quizzes, those curious about time zone conversions, and individuals who enjoy light-hearted discussions about event planning may find this thread useful.

Daylight Saving Time is not in effect on this date/time in EST
If I am not mistaken, 15:00:00 is 3:00pm

When would daylight saving be in effect in EST?

I like Serena said:I remember you were looking at a website that said daylight saving was not in effect in EST.
I just found this: "During the eight-month period of Daylight Saving Time, the names of time in each of the time zones in the U.S. (map) change as well. Eastern Standard Time (EST) becomes Eastern Daylight Time, [...]"
So EST never has daylight saving and you are currently not in EST, but in EDT.
