AI Thread Summary
To inquire about the status of a post in the Independent Research forum, it is recommended to contact Astronuc, who has experience with IR submissions. If Astronuc does not respond, using the report button to seek assistance from a mentor is suggested. The discussion emphasizes the importance of adhering to the IR submission guidelines and waiting for feedback before seeking arXiv endorsement. It is noted that gaining endorsement typically requires a strong paper and a personal connection with the endorser, rather than relying on public forum visibility. Overall, the thread highlights the need for patience and proper protocol in the submission process.

Whom I should ask about status of my post in Independent Research forum?

Physics news on Phys.org
Not sure. I would try Astronuc first. (All I know is that he's made a few posts about IR submissions in the hidden Science Advisor forum. I searched for "zonde" there and got no hits. I have no idea if that means anything. I'm not really familiar with the IR submission process).

You could also just hit the report button next to a post in this thread and request a reply from a mentor. (The report button creates a thread in the mentor forum).

yes contact astronuc

And what to do if Astronuc is not responding?

I wanted to ask for arxiv endorsement. Maybe I can do that in Quantum Physics forum?

Have you read the guidelines on the IR submission process?

If so, do you comply with them?

Assuming the above are true, you should submit and await feedback.

If the feedback is good and it gets posted to the forum, then you can ask for endorsement. Although it depends on what you are discussing if people will endorse you. I wouldn't get your hopes up.

Rules say: "The Tier 1 review will be completed within 30 days for all submissions."
Are you sure that this indeed happens so?

I just think that some extra attention to make sure this happens is fine.

I think you need to reread the sticky at the top of the IR forum. It says, quite clearly, "The Tier 1 review will be completed within 30 days for all submissions." Pestering Astronuc after 1/10th of that time has elapsed is not productive.

Are you sure your post meets those guidelines?

I am an arXiv endorser and will not endorse your paper. I don't think it's appropriate to ask strangers to do this.

What does posting in the IR forum has anything to do with an arxiv endorsement?

Certainly if someone will consider giving arXiv endorsement he would want to see the paper. So it has to be posted somewhere.

To gain endorsement it needs to be worth something - not a load of crap you've spooled out.

Your best bet is to go to a relevant academic person (local university) and they will help you get published if it's valid.

arXiv is simply a pre-publishing area, why do you want to get there? Do you plan to try to get published?

You seem to be going about this the wrong way. The IR forum isn't about gaining endorsement. The whole paper goes there for all to see so they can comment.

Who is this "someone" that you have in mind? Why not give that someone the manuscript directly? If you don't trust him/her to read it, why should he/she think any more of you to actually give out such endorsement?

I've never given out such endorsement to someone I don't know, much less, on a "paper" I've only read in a public forum. And I would guess that no such thing has occurred so far. So your intention on getting arxiv endorsement by displaying your manuscript here is bound for disappointment. This, of course, is assuming that your manuscript even makes it past our Tier 1 review.
