Why is Light Considered an Electromagnetic Wave?

AI Thread Summary
Light is classified as an electromagnetic wave because it is part of the electromagnetic spectrum, which encompasses various frequencies. The term "light" is used for convenience and historical reasons to differentiate it from other electromagnetic waves. Light specifically refers to electromagnetic waves with frequencies in the range of tens to hundreds of terahertz. Other frequencies within the electromagnetic spectrum are designated with different names. Understanding light as an electromagnetic wave highlights its connection to electricity and magnetism.

Light is one part of the electromagnetic spectrum. It is called light for convenience and historical reason and to distinguish it from other parts of the spectrum.
So in fact light is an electromagnetic wave.
Or in the other way: An electromagnetic wave with a frequency of some tens or hundreds Terahertz is light. Electromagnetic waves of other frequencies are called differently.
