This link https://www.ligo.org/about.php and this link https://my.ligo.org/census.php show me the list of participating universities in LIGO.
I am currently doing research under a professor at my university who is a member of LIGO.
Neither of the above links lists the names of the individual...
In particular, the REUs for astronomy. I know that programs like Hawaii IfA, UT Austin, and Harvard-Smithsonian are very competitive whereas programs in the Midwest, Mountain, etc regions are probably less competitive.
How do I find out the acceptance rates, application statistics, etc. of...
I'm a sophomore physics/astronomy double major + math minor at a large research university. (My university has an applied math department and a pure math department; I'm doing the pure math minor.) I have a GPA of 3.7 and (so far) A's in all my physics and astronomy courses, and A's in all my...
I am having trouble understanding this problem in Electric Potential. (Source: OpenStax, Chapter 19)
Now consider another system of two point charges. One has a mass of 1000 kg and a charge of 50.0 µC, and is initially stationary. The other has a mass of 1.00 kg, a charge of 10.0 µC, and is...
@TSny I used your method and got the following:
The average of the two temperatures is 843 K.
I then plugged into the formula ΔS=Q/T, with ΔS=950 and T=843.
950 = Q/843
Q = 800850 = 8.01 x 105 J
Thank you!
