Does spherical buoy doesn't rotate when subject to wave compare to rectangular buoy? If only buoyancy is taken into account only. Here is the picture I draw trying to explain.
My reason is that the water that is touching the spherical buoy experience the same geometry on any surface of the sphere.
So I have been studying solving separation of variable, heat equation and came across 2 set of lambda equation.
and
lambda = 0 have the same equation. Is it different?
Why don't the electric generator mount closer to the ground. The advantage I can think is that it is easy to maintain(no need to climb) and reduce weight(reduce tower cost), however the extended shaft will cost more. Does the longer shaft cost out weight the easier maintenance and generator...
Yes, I understand that every form of energy will be convert to heat eventually, I am asking are there commercial machine that convert kinetic energy to heat?
I am trying to find the most efficient way to convert kinetic energy to heat. The first thing I know is friction, however friction cause wearing for long term use. The second is convert to electric energy(dynamo) and then convert to heat using electric coil, however I think that has low...
Does electrical arc with the same power but different voltage and current have same temperature?
When electrical arc is form, it is estimate that the temperature is about 3000K
Does temperature depend on voltage or current alone? Or does it depend on power(P=VA)? I think it is power, because...
But the core of the transformer is ferromagnetic. Copper is just to create magnetic field. But I think copper will also work. Aren't there research on this?
More specifically, how to conduct electricity through water without submerging electrodes into water? I can't think of other way except using high voltage to arc across air into water, but this method only work for high voltage. Any ideas? Thanks
I think my question not well explain, The plasma arc I was talking about is plasma arc create by breakdown of air at atmospheric pressure, I observe that when high voltage arc across two electrodes, it form an electric arc that curve. Photo from wikipedia, as you can see it curve.
From what I...
