Which is best? I have the TI-89 but I am curious about how it compares to the hp50g.

Does the hp have ebook reader apps or note making apps. can the screen resolution be adjusted to increase the size of the character font etc. Does the hp have good 3rd party app support. the TI apps are not as good/available as they should or could be.

As a scientist, it is important to always consider the specific needs and requirements of your work when choosing a scientific calculator. Both the TI-89 and the hp50g have their own unique features and capabilities that may be better suited for different types of scientific calculations.

In terms of apps, both the TI-89 and hp50g have a wide range of apps available, but the specific apps and their quality may differ between the two calculators. It is important to research and compare the available apps for each calculator to determine which one has the best options for your specific needs.

When it comes to screen resolution, the hp50g does have a higher resolution compared to the TI-89. This may be beneficial for those who need to see more detailed equations or graphs on their calculator screen. However, it is also important to note that the TI-89 has a larger screen size, which may be more comfortable for some users.

In terms of third-party app support, both calculators have a strong community of developers who create and share apps for their respective calculators. However, as mentioned, the quality and availability of these apps may vary between the two calculators. It is important to do thorough research and read reviews from other users to determine which calculator has the best third-party app support for your specific needs.

Ultimately, the best calculator for you will depend on your specific needs and preferences. It is important to thoroughly research and compare the features and capabilities of both the TI-89 and hp50g to determine which one is best suited for your scientific calculations.

1. How do the apps on the TI-89 compare to those on the hp50g?

The TI-89 has a larger selection of pre-installed apps, but the hp50g allows for more customization and user-created apps. Both calculators have a variety of math, science, and engineering apps available for download.

2. Which calculator has a higher screen resolution?

The hp50g has a higher screen resolution, with 131 x 80 pixels compared to the TI-89's 160 x 100 pixels. This means that the hp50g can display more detailed graphs and equations.

3. Can the TI-89 and hp50g support the same types of equations and functions?

Both calculators have similar capabilities when it comes to solving equations and graphing functions. However, the hp50g has a larger memory capacity and can handle more complex calculations.

4. What type of support is available for these calculators?

Both the TI-89 and hp50g have online resources, such as user manuals and tutorials, available on their respective websites. Additionally, there are online communities and forums where users can ask for help and share tips and tricks.

5. Which calculator is better for advanced mathematics and engineering?

The hp50g is generally considered more suitable for advanced mathematics and engineering due to its higher processing power and larger memory capacity. However, the TI-89 also has a strong reputation in these fields and is a popular choice among students and professionals.
