Rectenna Engineering? Microwave power? Is this possible?

I want to power a device using microwaves. The microwave emitter will be about 1 meter away. I want the rectenna to be about a square meter in area and planar (not a dish). The rectenna will need to pass on about a kW of power.

Is this possible? How do I design a rectenna like that? How much would it cost? I know nothing about this, so thanks in advance if you can point me into to the right direction.

Lordy son, what in the world are you up to? You do understand that what you are asking about is dangerous and illegal on the surface of it, right? What is the safe and legal application that you have in mind?

I'm not going to do anything dangerous haha. I'm just wondering if it's possible to design a rectenna the way I want it. Do you know anything about rectennas?

I just wanted to know if it was possible, how much it would cost, and how such a rectenna must be designed. The context is that it would be to power a device, but I'm not actually going to do it. I just want to know what's involved.
