Killer Asteroid
Does anyone have any guesses on how big an asteroid would have to be to STERILIZE the earth?

Depending on how dens and how much contacts the Earth's surface on impact. If you had an asteroid made of iron, a football field sized asteroid would probably do it.

A "Killer Astroid" is a large asteroid that has the potential to cause significant damage or destruction if it were to collide with Earth.
The size of an asteroid needed to be classified as a "Killer Astroid" can vary, but it is generally considered to be at least 1 kilometer in diameter.
Thankfully, "Killer Astroids" do not come close to Earth very often. A large asteroid that could cause global damage may only pass by every few hundred thousand years.
If a "Killer Astroid" were to hit Earth, it could cause widespread destruction, including tsunamis, earthquakes, and potentially even a global extinction event.
Scientists and organizations, such as NASA, are constantly monitoring the skies for potentially dangerous asteroids and developing plans to deflect them if they are on a collision course with Earth. However, more funding and resources are needed to ensure our planet's safety in the event of a "Killer Astroid" threat.
