What is 360 degrees: Definition and 13 Discussions

A circle is a shape consisting of all points in a plane that are at a given distance from a given point, the centre; equivalently it is the curve traced out by a point that moves in a plane so that its distance from a given point is constant. The distance between any point of the circle and the centre is called the radius. This article is about circles in Euclidean geometry, and, in particular, the Euclidean plane, except where otherwise noted.
Specifically, a circle is a simple closed curve that divides the plane into two regions: an interior and an exterior. In everyday use, the term "circle" may be used interchangeably to refer to either the boundary of the figure, or to the whole figure including its interior; in strict technical usage, the circle is only the boundary and the whole figure is called a disc.
A circle may also be defined as a special kind of ellipse in which the two foci are coincident and the eccentricity is 0, or the two-dimensional shape enclosing the most area per unit perimeter squared, using calculus of variations.

Calculation of time taken for a motor to rotate an object 360 degrees

How would I go about calculating the time taken for the motor on page 2 to move the attached beam 360 degrees? Things such as the rpm and voltage are given in the attached data sheet for various different motors and you can reference anyone you like. I'm more interested in understanding what's...

Converting PyGame 2 axis joystick float to 360 angle

I would like to convert my joystick's two axis float (horizontal and vertical) to a 360 angle that can be used to set a players direction in my game. From my research, I've found the best route to take is using Atan2. Variables: self.rot = 0 horaxis = joy1.get_axis(0) veraxis = joy1.get_axis(1)...

I 360 degrees and the Golden Ratio

Hi All, I have just found in the internet an identity showing that the Golden Ratio can be expressed as a function of the cosine of the angle of 36 degrees. It seemed to me as an important fact related to this specific angle. Had this fact, historically, any relevance to the choice of the 360...

Proofing that All Arcs of a Circle = 360 Degrees

Im doing a proof. For instance all sums of a triangle add upp to 180 degrees. But how to i motivate that all arcs on a circle add up to 360 degrees. A part of my proof is that Arc A + B + C = 360 degrees. But i don't know what to write in the column that motivates every step. ! Like a lap is...

How do you rotate an electron 360 degrees?

I went through an undergraduate physics program and I've internalized the results of the Stern–Gerlach experiment to the point where it makes more sense to me than the classical version. However, one thing I somehow missed (or maybe it wasn't taught) is what "must rotate an electron 720...

    Unit Circle: 360 Degrees = 2(pi) Radians

Do trapezium angles have to equal 360 degrees?

The four sided, a=110.50 ft, b=165.27, c=162.18, and d=a slightly curved line of 146. ft-- (from point to point, it still seems to be 146 feet,) anyway---This from a land survey---I believe the distances of width, center point and (height) can "prove" by the angles. The people I have been...
