What is Initial velocity: Definition and 458 Discussions

In electronics, biasing is the setting of initial operating conditions (current and voltage) of an active device in an amplifier. Many electronic devices, such as diodes, transistors and vacuum tubes, whose function is processing time-varying (AC) signals, also require a steady (DC) current or voltage at their terminals to operate correctly. This current or voltage is a bias. The AC signal applied to them is superpositioned on this DC bias current or voltage.
The operating point of a device, also known as bias point, quiescent point, or Q-point, is the DC voltage or current at a specified terminal of an active device (a transistor or vacuum tube) with no input signal applied. A bias circuit is a portion of the device's circuit which supplies this steady current or voltage.

Initial velocity out of a cannon

Hey everyone, I'm doing a lab for engineering class, and I'm having a little trouble with a part of it. The lab was that we have a cannon on a table, with 3 launch settings (different lengths the spring is compressed). The table is 40" high. Also, we have a dixie cup 90" away from the table...

Solving the Disk Motion Problem: Initial Velocity and Angular Velocity

if a disk which is initially spinning with an angular velocity,w, radians per second is pushed with an initial linear velocity of v, what is the resultant motion? assume a kinetic friction of mu normal to the disk i would love to see how this problem is solved. it seems real...

Simple Determination of Initial Velocity of a Pojectile

Simple Determination of Initial Velocity of a Projectile It is possible to roughly determine the initial velocity of a projectile shot from a launcher like the one linked to below using a number of methods. http://www.science4schools.co.uk/acatalog/10-1365.jpg Two of which I am aware...

    Find initial velocity using energy

A 1.4 kg box slides 15m across the floor. The coefficient of kinetic friction between the box and the floor is 0.3. I found that friction force in slowing the box was -61.74J. Is this right? What was the initial velocity of the box? I worked this problem using Kf = Ki + Wnc and found...

Find the initial velocity of the second ball

Calc help please! Can someone please help me how to do this problem using calculus? Thanks a lot. A ball is dropped out of a window 19.6m above the ground. At the same time another ball is thrown straight down from a window 79.6m above the ground. If both balls reach the ground at the same...

    Magnitude of the Initial Velocity

Given: g = 9.8 m/s^2 A cannon sends a projectile towards a target a distance 1250m away. The initial velocity makes an angle 40 degrees with the horizontal. The target is hit. What is the magnitude of the initial velocity? How high is the highest point of the trajectory? How long does...
