In summary, the conversation discusses the impact of Star Trek and its characters, particularly Scotty, on the idealistic nature of individuals. It is mentioned that the show has a similar message to Martin Luther King Jr's "I have a dream" speech and celebrates the contributions of actors Nichelle Nichols and Neil Armstrong.

It brings back some of the funny scenes Scotty was in:
- talking to the mouse when someone tells him this is how we use computers
- bumping into a bulkhead after saying he knows every inch of the ship
- when he caused a brawl not because the Klingon insulted the captain or starfleet but because the Klingon dissed the ship
- when he shipped the tribbles to the Klingon ship in retaliation

I just thought that it could have been Star Trek which contributed a lot to the idealistic part of my nature. It was in a way the cinematic counterpart of "I have a dream" as it has shown us a world how it should be. Nichols and Armstrong are two representatives of that 'should be'.
