Drakkith has already initiated a post on this, but I wanted to ask this again:

How do you visualise a PF member when you interact with them? Do you see them as their avatars? What if they don't have one? Do you visualise them by their names? What if their names and avatars collide (like mine does)?

I associate most of you guys as popular characters. I will post my views after a few replies (if any come that is).

PS: There is no point discussing how you visualize me. My profile pic is an authentic pic of mine. Then why the weird name, you ask? I am under cover.

Shh, don't tell my mom.

Like any audience i speak to i imagine them naked, but in reality one gets a notion of their age and sex from posts.

Would it be sexist to observe "That sounds titillating" ?

For those who I encounter the most, I have invented an appearance of real people. For those who I don't see often, I visualise their avatars. I don't remember nicknames easily.

I visualize all as cybernauts and don't give any gender to them. Or to be more specific I refer to all as "he" unless they make it clear they are "she". Not that I care anyway, I just want to talk.

Confession:
@Evo - I must confess I was terrified of this member when I first came here and I still am, a little. I saw her slaying users who broke the rules with great ability (I too was once a moderator in a forum a long time ago) and while I was making this face :bugeye: I was praying: "Please don't make her notice me, please don't make her notice me." And every time I would see this member I would go back to the rules and read them while shaking. This member is very mysterious to me and I am scared of things I don't know or understand. :sorry: I could try to start a conversation with this member and get to know it, but I'm too scared to even try it. :frown: To the main question of this thread: I visualize this member as a militant person (that's my visualization, that doesn't mean this person is like that). She is still a mystery to me, when she writes something, I don't even dare to reply. I want to let you know that I respect you very much... please don't scold me. *voice minimizes*

Hmmm, Psinter, making a list, checking it twice, is this person naughty or nice?

It's genetics. All that knowledge coming from your 134 year old dad.

@Evo - Is your avatar an actual pic of yours? I am always confused.

OK here are the pics I promised:

1) @ZapperZ : Really seems like a nice guy. Professor Utonium seemed right.

2) @Drakkith : Didn't leave me much choice. He is obviously Optimus.

3) @mfb : Somehow I don't know where to place him. I flirted with Jack Sparrow and Severus Snape, and decided on JS.

OK. That's it for now. I have to look more people up. ?:)

Well, technically I'm a free turtle at sea. So I CAN be upside down and still make sense. A small poem in my tribute:

I am a young turtle
Free in the sea
It does not matter, how
One looks at me

OK...! Post 2. This has only two people on it:

1) @ZapperZ : The first thing that came to my head after you said "something ugly with bad breath"

2) @Chestermiller : I look upon him as 'The Guru of Thermodynamics' so yeah, this says it all.

My visualizations usually go by avatars, and in case I don't encounter anything distinctive there, I just read the username a few times - a picture that relates to some past memory or experience of mine almost always pops up.
