I read there are transparent solar panels which are also flexible,
Then I read carbon base solar panel.
Then sun capture that concentrate to panels like other fresnel lens or dish like. Then there is this idea that people can print out their own flexible solar panels with photovoltaic ink.

Much of this is still in the research stage, so costs are not known. It takes several years to move from research to R&D, and more time to become a manufactured product ... and not all ideas make it into consumer hands.

Related to What is the best solar efficiency out there?

1. What is solar efficiency?

Solar efficiency is the measure of how much sunlight can be converted into usable energy by a solar panel. It is typically expressed as a percentage and can range from 15% to 20% for most solar panels on the market.

2. What is the current best solar efficiency?

The current best solar efficiency for commercially available solar panels is around 22%. This efficiency is achieved by using more advanced solar cell technology, such as multi-junction solar cells, which can capture a wider range of sunlight wavelengths.

3. Can solar efficiency be improved?

Yes, solar efficiency can be improved through advancements in solar cell technology and manufacturing processes. Researchers are constantly working to develop new materials and techniques that can increase the efficiency of solar panels.

4. What factors affect solar efficiency?

There are several factors that can affect solar efficiency, including the quality of the solar cells, the angle and orientation of the panels, the amount of sunlight available, and the cleanliness of the panels. Temperature can also affect solar efficiency, with higher temperatures typically decreasing efficiency.

5. How does solar efficiency impact the cost of solar energy?

A higher solar efficiency can lead to lower costs for solar energy, as more energy can be produced with fewer panels. However, the initial cost of panels with higher efficiency may be more expensive. It is important to consider both efficiency and cost when deciding on a solar panel for your needs.
