Hi, from what I know, the crushing force for sugar cane is somewhat similar to pine wood which is about 40 MPA. But since there's water content in it, I need to readjust the yield stress for to crush the sugarcane.
I've tried googling it but couldn't find much useful information. Anyone knows...
Homework Statement
Find the ODE of the following
(1) du/dy = -u
(2) d^2u/dxdy = -du/dx
Homework Equations
For question 1, the answer is u= A(x)e^(-y)
while for question 2, the answer is u= e^(-y)(B(X) + c(Y))
The Attempt at a Solution
I've already solved the question, but...
If it doesn't move, I assume the centripetal force= the static friction
Which is (cos30)mrw^2= (0.2)(sin60)9.81
But this doesn't give me the answer given which is 4.07rad/s. Can highlight where did I go wrong?

Homework Equations
Static friction = (9.81sin60 x 0.2)N
Centripetal force = mr(w)²
The Attempt at a Solution
I am only abl to get part (i), need hints for part (ii) and (iii).
Thanks in advanced

one of my problems for my physics olympiad training,i can't seem to solve any of them on my own probably due to lack of knowledge about calculus.
i only learned c mathematics and not further mathematics.i have to read up on dot product for this question.
anyone interesting in teaching some other...
So,
B( 2 x 7^(0.5) x cos(30) , 2 x 7^(0.5) x sin(30) -9.81t )
A( 7^(0.5) x cos(30) , 7^(0.5) x sin(30) -9.81t )
When i use dot product,i get this :
21/2 + 7/2 -26.0t - 13.0t + 96.2t² = 0
96.2t² - 39.0t + 14 = 0
I can't solve this equation,where did i went wrong?
Anyone please correct...
Because cos(90) is zero thus their dot product is zero right?
by the way,any website that can help in explaining how to derive the velocity as a function of time?
Thanks a lot.
