    Complex numbers and negative roots

I was wondering if scientists or mathematicians have any use for complex numbers involving negative roots of I as in i=(-1)^(1/2). but my question is more what would be (-1)^(-1/2)?

Can Non-Numerical Methods Effectively Organize Qualitative Data?

Right. Practically it seems that in this universe there is probably no way to do analysis without some form of numerical ordering. The only reason I brought it up was that I imagined a potential non numerical analysis would be the end result as the limit of the level of abstraction approached...

Can Non-Numerical Methods Effectively Organize Qualitative Data?

The best question I can ask at this point is this: is there a way to order things or arrange things of which it is not even possible to use numbers or any form of numerical counting?

    Abstract Algebra: Beyond and Higher?

I was wondering if there is a field of mathematics which lies beyond and higher than abstract algebra? If it exists could someone tell me the name of that field? Thanks.

Unifying Numerical Math and Symbolic Logic: Has Progress Been Made?

In the late 1980's I asked my logic professor if there was some kind of logical and/or mathematical process which unified numerically based mathematics with true-false based symbolic logic. He told me that someone had written a lengthy book which apparently proved that it was totally impossible...

    Calculus Beyond Integration: What's Next?

Yessir. I see your point. But what happens if I do infinite iterations of integrating starting with. Simple polynomial? I doubt if the end result would converge to anything algebraically inexpressible. But is there some higher and more abstract way to express what is going here?

    Calculus Beyond Integration: What's Next?

This question may sound simplistic but is there a mathematical process which lies directly beyond integration integration, or more specifically beyond finding the antiderivative? And by that I mean loosely what is the next step? I do apologize if this statement sounds vague to higher minds. But...

Are there any examples of functions that react to themselves?

I was just throwing out an idea to see if the work of Dean Radin had permeated the regular body of knowledge. I would say that my vagueness lends itself to the fact that I haven't figured anything out yet.

Special Entanglement: Particles Reacting to Themselves

Hi. I have heard about particles that are entangled. But are there particles that are experimentally observed to react to themselves. If you know the applicable field, I would be happy to know what it is called. Thank you.

Are there any examples of functions that react to themselves?

Hi. Are there any examples of functions that react to themselves? If so, how are they expressed algebraically? Any simple example will be extremely enlightening to me. Thanks.

    Contemporary Physics: Preserving Einstein's Brilliance

I have come across a lot of information that says that the speed of light is not the fastest speed that can be reached in the universe. So if that is true, then what in contemporary physics conceptually is still preserved by special and/or general relativity? Because to me Einstein was too...
