Homework Statement
1.A circular coil, with radius of 10 cm, and 25 turns, rotates in a constant magnetic field of
strength 2.4 T, with the axis of rotation perpendicular to the direction of the magnetic
field.
A. If the coil rotates at a frequency of 50 Hz, what is the induced peak voltage...
Wow, okay... Thanks for the reassurance then! :)
The question has a point value of 6 points out of a 25 point homework assignment, so I thought there might be more to it than that, but apparently I thought wrong.
edit: yep ^^^^^^^^
I believe he/she means that you can replace m*a for the force of friction, so:
-1.2m = k*-9.81m
By solving this, you see that the mass cancels and you're left with the coefficient of friction.
Homework Statement
Each end of a metal wire is in thermal contact with a different heat reservoir.
Reservoir 1 is at a temperature of 752 K, and reservoir 2 is at a temperature of
345 K. Compute the total change in entropy that occurs from the conduction of
1096 J of heat through the wire...
Homework Statement
We mix 0.6 kg of water at a temperature of 25°C with 0.8 kg of alcohol at 30.5°C. They
come to equilibrium. (Here's some useful data: The specific heat capacity for water is 1
kcal/kg°C = 4186 J/kg°C, and for alcohol it is 0.58 kcal/kg°C = 2430 J/kg°C
What is the change...
1. The ratio of the melting temperature of gold and of silver is 1.10614, if both temperatures are measured using the Celsius temperature scale, and 1.08265 using the Kelvin scale. What are the temperatures?
2. I'm guessing we're supposed to use this to find the answer: Tkelvin = Tc +...
