Is a Convection Coefficient of 37 Indicative of Free Convection?

Thanks for Mech's remind. The listed value is for air cooling. Acctually the precise h value needs detailed information such as shape, fluid, ambient condition. Normally i use CFD software to calculate. However, the listed value can be used for draft esimated and may answer the raised question.

Maximizing Accuracy in K Type Thermocouple Measurements

For my expericence, the accuracy of thermocouple measure system (including sensor, record) are always >0.5℃ even after calibration. And the main error for temperature measure is not the sensor self, but the way how stick it to target and which size of thermocouple you used (for small source...

    Modeling of Fluid(air) in ProE/ANSYS

Agree with Mech_Engineer, If you are working on HVAC project, Airpack will be a good choice. And you can find similar tutorials, for quick start.

Is a Convection Coefficient of 37 Indicative of Free Convection?

For nature convection heat transfer coefficient h =10w/m^2-k(including radiation) For force convection, h range is more large, however you can take 25w/m^2-k for coarse estimate.

Pump Installation | College Days | Parallel vs Series

The pipe system flow resistance normally is binomial equation to flowrate. So when two pumps working together, the system flow resistance will also increase, finally you will not get double flowrate. One way to increase the flowrate for two pumps working, you'd try best to separate the...

How can I extract the Nusselt number over time in Ansys for a cavity model?

do you using the transient solve for the this problem, and how much is the total time duration and how much is time step? For transient solving, you can load the time section(certain times of time step) result and plot the result such as H or Nusselt

Will the heat transfer be effective or not?

it will help a little. If you want to enhance the cooling effect, you can try follwoing: 1,use heat pipe to instand of copper strip 2,add some fins on the end of heat pipe 3,make water flow by fins BTW, pay attentent to the water's temperature. If no coolig for the water, its temperature will...

Pressure drop across a small section of pipe.

    As i know, the 90 bend loss coefficient is linked with r/d(r=bend radius, d=pipe diameter): r/d=1, loss coefficient k=0.5 r/d=2, k=0.35 r/d=3, k=0.3
