How to Calculate Heat Removal in Sulfuric Acid Production
This was a question from one of my tutes earlier in the semester, and now that I'm revising for an exam I can't seem to remember how to do it. If anyone can help that would be great! Sulfuric acid is a major bulk chemical used in a wide variety of industries. After sulfur is oxidized to...- chem_is_lovex

How to make a sodium carbonate/sodium hydrogen carbonate buffer
ok, I did that and I got the ratio to be 3.55. I then tried to find the conc. of H+, therefore the conc. of carbonate ions... is this how you're supposed to do it? it also says "you should specify the amounts of sodium carbonate and sodium hydrogen carbonate that you would use" thanks- chem_is_lovex

How to make a sodium carbonate/sodium hydrogen carbonate buffer
Homework Statement "Plan how to make 100mL of a buffer solution with a pH of 10.8 to be made using only sodium carbonate, sodium hydrogen carbonate and water" Homework Equations pH= pKa+ log(CO32-)/(HCO3-) The Attempt at a Solution I tried rearranging it, but I'm not sure what to do...- chem_is_lovex

What are the numerical values of a1 and a2 in this AC transformer circuit?
ohhhh, yeah. ok, I didn't expand the 2(a2I1) and I get a2I1=5. next I did some working (attached) and I found that a2=5a1. What do I do after? I tried to sub it into some equations, but I can't seem to get a decent answer... is the working out I've done anywhere close to right?- chem_is_lovex

What are the numerical values of a1 and a2 in this AC transformer circuit?
ok, I've attached my working out... as you can tell I'm not very good at simplifying equations, so please bear with me.- chem_is_lovex

What are the numerical values of a1 and a2 in this AC transformer circuit?
ok, I tried that and I got a ratio of a[SIZE="1"]2=(5*a[SIZE="1"]1)/2 now do I sub this back into one of the power equations? and is this ratio even right?- chem_is_lovex

What are the numerical values of a1 and a2 in this AC transformer circuit?
ummm... The I[SIZE="1"]2=a[SIZE="1"]1*I[SIZE="1"]1 and I[SIZE="1"]3=a[SIZE="1"]2*I[SIZE="1"]1? and is the power being dissapated: P=(I[SIZE="1"]2^2)*R[SIZE="1"]2 and P=(I[SIZE="1"]3^2)*R[SIZE="1"]3?- chem_is_lovex
