Max. and Min. values - I don't understand
Hello! Thank you so much for your thorough explanation! I feel like I understand it a little better now. And I see now that I didn't evaluate the top left and right corners of the rectangle... The points I found, (-3,0) and (3,0), give the maximum and minimum value of f(x,y) on the rectangle...- ChristinaMaria

Max. and Min. values - I don't understand
Thank you  Thank you  Sorry, I don't understand. How would you view it as a surface (x,y,f(x,y))?- ChristinaMaria

Max. and Min. values - I don't understand
Hello! I have been working on this problem for a while. Apparently I've found the right answer, but I don't understand why it is correct. Homework Statement Find the maximum and minimum value for the function ƒ(x, y) = 2xy - 13x on the rectangle -3 ≤ x ≤ 3 0 ≤ y ≤ 2 The Attempt at a...- ChristinaMaria

Improper integral with substitution
Hi! I am trying to solve problems from previous exams to prepare for my own. In this problem I am supposed to find the improper integral by substituting one of the "elements", but I don't understand how to get from one given step to the next. Homework Statement Solve the integral by...- ChristinaMaria

The relationship between pH and pOH at 70 ◦C/ 343.15 K
I meant "ln" as the natural logarithm to K2/10-14. I then raised 10 to the power of K2/10-14 to remove the "ln". Is this part wrong? Update: I understand what you mean now, I was supposed to raise e to the power of K2/10-14, not 10 to K2/10-14 like you would do with "log"..! I used e...- ChristinaMaria

The relationship between pH and pOH at 70 ◦C/ 343.15 K
Hi again. I thought I would give an update with my attempt to solve the problem. I followed your suggestion and used the Van't Hoff equation: With the following values: ΔH⊖ = 56000 J/mol, K1 = 10-14, R = 8.214 J/mol K, T2 = 343.15 K and T1 = 298.15 Kln K2/10-14 = 2.99 K2/10-14 = 102.99 =...- ChristinaMaria

The relationship between pH and pOH at 70 ◦C/ 343.15 K
We are probably supposed to use van'T Hoff's equation! I will try that. Thank you!- ChristinaMaria

The relationship between pH and pOH at 70 ◦C/ 343.15 K
Homework Statement The relationship between pH and pOH, for pure water, at 25 ◦C is 14 = pH + pOH What is the corresponding relationship between pH and pOH, for pure water, at 70 ◦C? Homework Equations Le Châtelier's principle? [H+][OH-] = 10-14 [10-7][10-7] = 10-14 (25 ◦C) [10-n][10-m] =...- ChristinaMaria
