Calculating Induced EMF from AM Radio Broadcast and Dipole Antenna

Homework Statement An AM Radio station broadcasts isotropically(equally in all directions) with an average power of 4.00kW. A dipole receiving antenna 65.0cm long is at a location 4.00 mi from the transmitter. Compute the amplitude of the emf that is induced by this signal between the ends of...

Engineering Becoming an engineer with a Physics degree

I never noticed that before. Thank you for that. That makes this decision a lot easier.

Engineering Becoming an engineer with a Physics degree

I do not know how good their program is here is the degree requirements http://www.snu.edu/physics-major and here is the catalog http://my.snu.edu/catalog/catalog.asp

Engineering Becoming an engineer with a Physics degree

I want to become an engineer but I am also interested in playing football at a small NAIA school that does not offer a degree in any kind of engineering but they do offer a degree in Physics. I was wondering how difficult is it to become an engineer with a degree in physics or if it is even...

    Destructive Interference in Sound Waves

I found the wavelength to be 2.36 by taking the velocity=330/the frequency=140. The sound will cancel out when the peak of one wave overlaps a valley of the other. Which will be when they are out of phase by half a wavelength.

    Destructive Interference in Sound Waves

I figured out that he hears a minimum twice. I have tried finding the wavelength and then using the Peak to Valley overlap equation which should apply to destructive interference where PVO=(m+.5)lamda m=0,1,2,3,... but that isn't working. What am I doing wrong should I not be using that...

    Destructive Interference in Sound Waves

Homework Statement Two speakers are driven by the same oscillator whose frequency is 140 Hz. They are located on a vertical pole a distance of 4.45 m apart from each other. A man walks straight toward the lower speaker in a direction perpendicular to the pole. (a) How many times will he hear...
