ah damn you all, I can hardly see anything in my mind's eye.
takes me a good few minutes to get a vague idea of what my own face/mother's face/other familiar faces look like. And sometimes I just can't.
Oi, apologies, I got distracted and missed explicitly addressing the main point:
It is my understanding that almost all intracellular fluid, neuronal or otherwise, is negative with respect to the extracellular fluid because of the ubiquitous Na+/K+ ATP-ase and differential membrane...
There isn't any electron transfer - it's all ions establishing the charge (membrane acts as a capacitor for the separated ions).
The reason this happens with solutions that are electrically neutral can be partially demonstrated with the following super-unrealistic example:
Here's a...
 Let's see. I just mixed thirty something grams of baking soda into a half liter of vinegar. Bubbling?
Yes, I saw so much bubbling - frothing or vigorously foaming might be a better description - that I had to take about 2 minutes to dissolve the 34g of NaHCO3, dropping it in bit by bit...
Success
Mrjeffy, it seems your advice did the trick. I redid my calculations based on weight and after boiling the water to my guesstimate of the saturation point (I figured I'd just get the powder again and hope there wasn't as much brown) I went to the bathroom and came back to see crystals...
EDIT: Started writing before GCT's post, will address it at bottom.
Thanks for the reply. Back from work now so I'll probably mix another, larger batch in a couple minutes and give alternate methods a try.
(") But you're not getting off that easy! (" he says, powerless to control others) I...
Update:
Definitely found some rectangular prism type crystals all over a dried solution of the brown powder. By letting the slurry run slowly (as it dries it becomes very viscous) I was able to purify crudely the crystals as whatever is lending the brown color is the last to come out of...
This topic should probably be moved, though I'm not sure where to.
The antitussive (cough supressing) chemical in Robotussin is dextromethorphan. It is most definitely not present in LSD - and therefore acid, as acid is just a slang name for lsd. It does, however, have psychoactive properties...
Problematic "Synthesis" of Sodium Acetate
Greetings all, was hoping someone more knowledgeable than me (not a tall order, by any means) could point out some errors in my theory or method here.
Fascinated by pictures of supersaturated NaCH3OOH solutions crystallizing at the drop of a dime (or a...
I've had 2-3 death dreams in my lifetime, if that means anything.
Unfortunately, I'm in a bit of a hurry finishing C++ homework before the final, so I don't have time to go into great detail (maybe fortunate after all).
A summary of the most vivid experience:
In the clearest one I got shot...
I was too hasty when I last posted. I underestimated the depth of the discussions and the care with which the material will be selected. I thought it'd be more of a napster for compelling papers, with the option of exploring it further in a separate discussion left to those interested. I still...
From a poke at someone "a bit flab-by?"Nice rhymes in here.
Tribdog:
(which doesn't really compare to the guy asking you to have his babies, but hey)
lates,
cotarded.
edit: didn't see zoobyshoe's since I spent like 15 minutes trying to write my own limerick, which was a total failure.
My favorite movie, Memento did a stupendous job of this. It follows a man unraveling the rape-murder mystery of his wife while simutaneously dealing with anterograde memory loss (no new memories) dealt him by the same assailant. IT IS INCREDIBLE. The entire movie is split into fragments the size...
I don't know whether it is genetic or not, but can at least attest to the diversity. I have a friend who's thought is so multi-sensory and vivid, that considering an action is often very difficult to disassociate from performing that action. For someone else I know, thought is visual alchemy...
