Particle on a Circle Homework: Solving with Newton's Law
Homework Statement Homework Equations I suppose Newtons third and second law. centripetal acceleration = v^2 /R The Attempt at a Solution I'm thinking that the force due to weight, should be exceeded by the centripetal acceleration? I couldn't get the calculations to add...- faen

Graduate Unifying Gravity and Quantum Mechanics: The Role of Spin-2 Fields
In reality, if you have two frames of references accelerating relative to each other, is the physics measured to be the same then? And that special relativity can't predict why this is the case? So if it is a spin 2 mass less particle that turns out to be responsible for gravity it means that...- faen

Graduate Unifying Gravity and Quantum Mechanics: The Role of Spin-2 Fields
How do we know that GR is wrong? When I mean gravity I don't necessarily mean either Newtonian or general relativity gravity. I guess they may both not be sufficient explanations. However, is it impossible to say that gravity is just massless particles flowing through space causing matter and...- faen

Graduate Unifying Gravity and Quantum Mechanics: The Role of Spin-2 Fields
How does it fall apart only because things start to accelerate? It already predicts the same for acceleration as with motion, that you just need more and more force or that the mass get's bigger and bigger the more you want to accelerate it close to the speed of light. Haha, I hope you had an...- faen

Graduate Unifying Gravity and Quantum Mechanics: The Role of Spin-2 Fields
But I'd say that only explains that special relativity is true, that time is slowed in the field. That light is bent in gravity, does that really by itself prove that time is a dimension and that space is curved relative to it? That is what I disbelieve.. Also I'm still curious whether it is...- faen

Let's say if general relativity is wrong. What is then the problem of unifying gravity with quantum mechanics? Is there any problem at all then?- faen

Solving Magnetic Flux Through a Sphere in a Homogeneous Field
I got it! Thanks a lot! I checked again the formula for circle and it was \pir2.. So removing the 4 gave the right answer :)- faen

Solving Magnetic Flux Through a Sphere in a Homogeneous Field
0.5 is the magnetic field density.. So i was thinking if that is multiplied with the surface area of a circle (bottom of the object in question) then that would be the same amount of flux leaving at the top? I still didn't get the right answer, it's supposed to be 0, 6283 mVs and I calculated...- faen

Solving Magnetic Flux Through a Sphere in a Homogeneous Field
That means that the total flux is zero.. As gauss law for magnetic fields I guess. I still don't know how to calculate half of the sphere though..- faen

Solving Magnetic Flux Through a Sphere in a Homogeneous Field
Thanks for the input so far :) With the integration I got ∫2*0.5 \pi r2sin2\thetacos 90-\theta d\theta I'm not sure if I could integrate it, but I think I'd get some points for this solution still. I still don't know how I can use divergence to solve the problem.. I think I need further...- faen

Electric field in parallel plate capacitor
Homework Statement The parameters of an air-filled parallel plate capacitor are: d = 5mm and A = 500cm2. The charge of the electrodes are Q = 10nC and −Q. Inside of the capacitor in the middle point there is a point charge of 0, 02Q. Find the magnitude of the force acting to the point charge...- faen
