So my mind tends to wander, but I was thinking... since active/passive sonar is used to detect objects underwater, couldn't thermal imaging be used as well (in conjunction)? Isn't there any reason why we couldn't combine the two sensors into cooperatively working together to detect submarines...
I have a BSEE degree and the company I work for requires me to get a Masters degree in a technical field. I have a few options and can choose whichever Masters degree I want to pursue... as long as it is technical.
I have this narrowed down to a few degree selections:
1) MS in Electrical...
Does anyone know how to create a matrix of complex Gaussian noise (with unit power = 1 and mean of zero)? I need to define a test sample for my algorithm, but I'm stuck at defining my test bench.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks!
Thanks for the advice.
So, to the other people out there, especially engineers - what would you think if you saw a masters in systems engineering on a resume that needed an electrical or computer engineer for the job? Or perhaps managing large projects, etc?
It depends. Both career paths will take you there, it just depends on how long, the paths you will have to walk to get there, etc.
For example, I did a search and found that the CTO of Lockheed Martin (the world's largest defense contractor) has a PhD. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dr._Ray_O_Johnson
I'm thinking about doing my masters in either in Systems or Electrical Engineering at the George W. University.
Personally, I have to do a masters for work (it's required). I have no desire to be an engineer anymore, and eventually plan on getting my PhD in business.
Which should I take...
Why are you all hating on him? Just answer his question and be done with it. I'm sure when it comes to more serious writing, such as corresponding with the company engineers and/or representatives, his writing will change to a form that is acceptable.
creepypasta, I would suggest going with the...
I'm a senior engineering major. I'm currently taking my general education requirements, particularly a theater class at the 200 level.
Is it bad if I do a pass/fail grade instead of an actual letter grade? Would the graduate committee (for whichever school I apply to) even notice/care? I have...
Hm. I will have to go back and revise the RHR. Hence, the answers IF ASSUMING if the current going down in wire 2 is negative, I will get:
(a)
Bnet = 2(u*5A)/(2*pi*5cm)
(b)
B1 = (u*5A)/(2*pi*10cm)
B2 = -(u*5A)/(2*pi*20cm)
(c)
B1 = (u*5A)/(2*pi*30cm)
B2 = -(u*5A)/(2*pi*20cm)
I hope this...
I see. Thanks for the help. I think I will stick to that convention I just mentioned.
Hence, for part (a)
Bnet = (u*5A)/(2*pi*5cm) - (u*5A)/(2*pi*5cm) = 0I think that looks good right?
I see. So, in the case for b and c, I have to denote one convention to say if the current is going down the wire, it will produce a negative magnetic field, B. So, let's say the current down wire 2 (the wire on the left) will produce negative current.
Hence, for part (b)
B1 =...
You can't narrow it down and say you'll be better off doing electrical engineering or materials engineering if you want to become an entrepreneur. Albeit, it is probably wiser to choose something engineering/computer-science related if you're looking to break into that industry.
Really, all you...
I thought the signs were independent on each other? Don't you have to calculate the independent magnetic field produced by each wire first at that particular point then add them two?
If not, then I must've made a mistake in part a, no? That's what I did for part a.
