I wasn't particularly asking about Venus, I was just curious of where the planets get there rotational current speeds from
what answer are you looking for between the Earth and Venus, there are significant differences between the two sister planets;
1) the existence of the Earth magnetic...
so what you are saying is that the cosmic dust was rotating at some speed as it was forming our planet, and the Earth kept that speed ( - a few m/s) and that's why planets rotate at there current speed today ?
Hi
I read up on astronomy for fun and I find the cosmos very fascinating
my question is what determines the speed of a planet? whys does Earth spin at its current speed where's Venus spins almost 224 Earth days.
I believe I read that the reason why the Earth spins in the first place is...
Hi
I have a question, when shining a flash light (white light) we are getting all the visible spectrum of light correct; the wavelengths are under 400 to above 700 nm ? now if we put a red or blue plastic sheet on top of the flash light we see the color of that plastic sheet.
What is...
The color coordinates of displays for portable electronics such as laptop computers generally provide smaller color spaces than for television. Battery power is a critical limitation on the light sources used for the display and maximum display brightness is desired. Explain why a reduction in...
A rectangular semiconductor has dimensions of 2x2x1 mm, the unit cell is cubic and has edge length of 2 angstroms. find the number of states in one band of this semiconductor.
What I have done:
volume of unit cell = (2x10^7)^3 = 8x10^-21 mm^3
volume of semi conductor = 4 mm^3
number of...
If I understand this correctly, the clouds absorb most of the incoming light spectrum? and due to scattering (and collision ?) most of the light stay inside the clouds therefore only the "white" or the "grey" part of the spectrum is seen by us? and there is no photon energy losses?
Hi
Can some one please explain to me what happens to light particles on a gloomy day? why is the sky grey? are the photons entering the atmosphere just at a low energy level?
Thanks
