How to Convert Between Velocity-Distance and Distance-Time Graphs?
With those all I'd do is divide each section into chunks, draw a graph below it where the chunks are parallel to the new graph, and ask a question about each chunk and what would make sense to fill into the new graph. For example, if the velocity is keeping at 10m/s the distance will rise at...- Fractal314

Solving Polynomial Equations: How Do I Find the Roots of 5(x+1)^3 = -5?
Ok I got factor theorem figured out, but it didn't work for me, and takes forever. The sum of cubes way, I'm not sure if it is right the way I did it. 5(x+1)3 = -5 5(x+1)3 = -5 (x+1)3 = -1 (x+1)3 +1 = 0 Alright so there are only two terms, (x+1) and 1. So (x+1) = a and 1 = b...- Fractal314

Solving Polynomial Equations: How Do I Find the Roots of 5(x+1)^3 = -5?
Homework Statement I am unsure what to do here. I'm given the equation 5(x+1)3 = -5 , and I was given the equation 5(x+1)3 = 0 beforehand. The latter equation has an 'x' value of -1 only, right. However, for the former equation, because I brought the '-5' across the equal sign I realize the...- Fractal314

Trig Identities that I can't get a grip on
Thankyou Overt, I did not see it. So would I be right in assigning 'y' as pi/4? and let 'x' be 'x'? For tan(pi/4+x) I will instead get (tanx+tanpi/4)/(1-tanxtanpi/4)?- Fractal314

Trig Identities that I can't get a grip on
[tan(pi/4+x)-tan(pi/4-x)]/[tan(pi/4+x)+tan(pi/4-x)]=2sinxcosx I tried to prove this trig identity but I an really stuck. I think tan of pi/4 is '1', and if I do that then my numerator becomes zero, thus zero=2sinxcosx. But that can't be right, so I don't know what to do now. LS=...- Fractal314

Expressing area as a function of circumference
What do you mean? if A(c)= pi(c/2pi)(c/2pi) then I get pi[c*c/2(2pi)] do I not? Because I have to multiply the two brackets. Then I multiply the pi and end up not getting c^2/4pi. I am still confused as to what I am doing wrong.- Fractal314

Expressing area as a function of circumference
Here's what I did. A(c) = pi(c/2pi)^2 now I have to square the brackets first, right? therefore, pi(c/2pi)(c/2pi) Is this not what I have to do? and then I can multiply the extra pi in there. So I am still confused. I still end up with A(c)= pi(c^2/4pi)- Fractal314

Expressing area as a function of circumference
I don't feel the formatting is right for this question because it's not a problem, it's just algebra I'm not getting. A(r)= (pi)(r)^2 C= 2(pi)r r= C/(2pi) therefore, A(c)= pi[c/(2pi)]^2 but I don't understand how this is supposed to equal A(c)= C^2/4pi my attempt: A(c)=...- Fractal314

How Is Centripetal Force Calculated for a Bird Pulling Out of a Dive?
1. A bird of mass 0.211kg pulls out of a dive, the bottom of which can be considered to be a circular arc with a radius of 25.6m. At the bottom of the arc, the bird's speed is a constant 21.7m/s. Determine the magnitude of the upward lift on the bird's wings at the bottom of the arc. I am...- Fractal314

Differences between DNA Polymerase I, II, and III
What are DNA polymerase? Why do they have to exist? Why do RNA primers need to be primed? Is the idea of priming, just connecting the 3' to the 5'? What is the difference between the polymerase I, II, III? Homework Equations I have no clue how to answer this and my textbook makes...- Fractal314
