Undergrad Does the normal force really equal mg on earth? I think not....
Imagine you measure some g accounting also for any centripetal acceleration. If you were to calculate the acceleration of free fall, this would then be the g which you measured, Being the free fall force just mg. But this means the g you measured is not the approximation of G*Mearth/Rearth2 but...- IntegralBeing

Undergrad Does the normal force really equal mg on earth? I think not....
Dear community, I am very ashamed to have not noticed this result but well into my physics major, and I would like to share it with you. I am not sure it is right, which is my reason for posting it. The normal force is classically referred as...- IntegralBeing

Calculus I've just finished Stewart's calculus, now what?
Thanks for the advice! But I must say this particular review https://www.amazon.com/dp/0198723539/?tag=pfamazon01-20 discouraged me a little. Thank you again fellow- IntegralBeing

Calculus I've just finished Stewart's calculus, now what?
Thank you! I looked inside a bit on amazon and I didn't really like the 'super friendly' language. 'f(x) blows up at x= 2' made me cringe a little to be honest. I've been searching through my university library and I really liked Apostol's Mathematical Analysis and Taylor's Advanced Calculus...- IntegralBeing

I want to know many things and be an integral intellectual
For me reality in a physical sense is about what experiments tell us, it has more to do with the "external world where the other people are at". But reality itself wow that really is a mistery; I have thought a lot about that. It is so complicated I would say going through the riddles of...- IntegralBeing

I want to know many things and be an integral intellectual
Hi there forum, I'm an enlightenment-crazy person and physics student in his early 20s and I want to have learned many things by the end of this decade. One of the things I want to do is to achieve a really good understanding of how reality works in a physical sense. I also want to learn how to...- IntegralBeing

Calculus I've just finished Stewart's calculus, now what?
I hated that book so much; I had the opportunity to change to Spivak or Apostol in holidays but I didn't do it. I feel like I will have to read a good rigorous calculus text from the beginning since Stewart's textbook is sheer rubbish in many senses. Which book should I read to continue my...- IntegralBeing
