In order to find the recoil velocity of a spring

The nucleus of Po^214 decays radioactively by emitting an alpha particle (mass 6.65×10−27 kg) with kinetic energy 1.16×10−12 J, as measured in the laboratory reference frame. a) Assuming that the Po was initially at rest in this frame, find the magnitude of the recoil velocity of the nucleus...

Help finding potential energy of spring.

Block A has mass 1.00 kg, and block B has mass 3.00 kg. The blocks are forced together, compressing a spring between them; then the system is released from rest on a level, frictionless surface. The spring, which has negligible mass, is not fastened to either block and drops to the surface after...

Please help, quick and simple. Potential Energy of Spring?

isn't that how to find the final speed of block A? or am i missing something... becuase i already have that... i have all of the information for this problem and just need to find the potential energy that is stored in the spring...

Please help, quick and simple. Potential Energy of Spring?

first of all thanks for helping... okay... so i tried (1/2mv^2)a+(1/2mv^2)b=PEspring ... got 9.075 as a wrong answer... did i mis-understand you?? i only have one more attempt at this problem (it is a mastering physics problem).

Magnitude of the recoil velocity of the nucleus

I have a problem simular to this... in order to find the recoil velocity... i have tried v=-(sqrt KE*2m)/m ... is there a known mass for Polonium that you plug into this problem? where am i going wrong?

What horizontal force is necessary to hold the bag in the new position?

A 125 kg mail bag hangs by a vertical rope 3.3 m long. A postal worker then displaces the bag to a position 2.0 m sideways from its original position, always keeping the rope taut. a)What horizontal force is necessary to hold the bag in the new position? b)As the bag is moved to this...
