Work of Electric Field Problem, can't find mistake

Homework Statement I posted the question on cramster at http://answerboard.cramster.com/physics- ... so you could see the picture. Homework Equations W = qV = kq1q2 / r The Attempt at a Solution I figure out A, B, and C, (which are the x component, y component, and the...

How Fast Must a Bullet Travel to Swing a Pendulum Bob Through a Complete Circle?

See, this is where I am confused. I just don't know what to do. I thought that since it was circular motion, you would just convert the velocity to circular motion velocity. I am so confused,

How Fast Must a Bullet Travel to Swing a Pendulum Bob Through a Complete Circle?

So would it just change the equation to 4M/m (sqrt gl) = v^2/r where r is the length of the rod, because that would be the radius... is that right?

How Fast Must a Bullet Travel to Swing a Pendulum Bob Through a Complete Circle?

Homework Statement A bullet of mass .0179kg (m) and speed v passes completely through a pendulum bob of mass 1.3kg (M). The bullet emerges with a speed of v/2. The pendulum bob is suspended by a stiff rod of length 1.08m (L) and negligible mass. What is the minimum value of v such...

Help on Spring and conservation of energy problem

I know you are probably going to be very frustrated with me, but I am completely lost. We have never even worked problems of this caliber before, so I am very confused.

Help on Spring and conservation of energy problem

I just pulled out the Wf equation from my book because it was in the same section as springs. I don't know what some of the variables even stand for. For the components of the velocity, do you mean just use kinematics?

Help on Spring and conservation of energy problem

Homework Statement I have been trying this question for close to two hours now and have gotten it incorrect three time. I would appreciate any help! The spring has a constant of 30 N/m and the frictional surface is .3 m long with a coefficient of friction μ = 1.02. The 4 kg block...

How Do You Calculate Maximum Speed to Prevent a Car from Skidding on a Track?

isn't that what I had been using before though? mus(static) mg= mv^2/s and the m's cancel and you solve for v^2 but I still keep getting it incorrect
