Optics - For what distance must we focus our eyes to see this image
The object is 1m away and the person is 3m away so it would be 3m +1m + the 1m behind the mirror so it would be 5m.- Kathi201

Incident Intensity of light transmitted
as it passes through each sheet .5 is passed through each polarizer and there is three of them so would you take .5 x .5 x .5 = .125 which would be E. Io/8 ?- Kathi201

Optics - For what distance must we focus our eyes to see this image
Ok so now that I am thinking about, is the image behind the mirror or in front. I am starting to think it is behind?- Kathi201

Optics - For what distance must we focus our eyes to see this image
The image is located in front of the mirror. Isn't the image distance equal to the object distance. Thus it would be 3m- Kathi201

What Angle Does the Polarizing Sheet's Axis Make with the Horizontal Direction?
Light known to be polarized in the horizontal direction is incident on a polarizing sheet. It is observed that only 15 percent of the intensity of the incident light is transmitted through the sheet. What angle does the transmission axis of the sheet make with the horizontal? I am not quite...- Kathi201

Incident Intensity of light transmitted
An unpolarized beam of light is incident on a group of three polarizing sheets that are lined up so that the characteristic direction of each is rotated by 45 degrees clockwise with respect to the preceding sheet. What is the fraction of the incident intensity Io that is transmitted? a. zero...- Kathi201

An object placed in front of a plane mirror
An object is placed 1m in front of a plane mirror. An observer stands 3m behind the object. For what distance must the observer focus his eyes in order to see the image of the object? My guess is that the observer would have to focus their eyes 3m in order to see the image because when the...- Kathi201

How Does Optical Activity Help Measure Sugar Concentration?
The sugar concentration in a solution can be measured conveniently by using the optical activity of sugar nad other asymmetric molecules. In general, an optically active molecule like sugar will rotate the plane of polarization through an angle that is proportional to the thickness of the sample...- Kathi201

How Do the Laws of Reflection Affect Perception of Space and Image Size?
I am trying to understand the laws of reflection better. I know that if a large flat mirror is placed on one wall of a room that the room appears larger than it actually is, but by how much? Is it exactly twice as big? Also, How does the size of the image that is reflected from a plane...- Kathi201

Reactance and Inductance of an inductor
a. The reactance of an inductor is 100 ohms at 2kHz. What is the inductance of this inductor?? b. At what frequency is the reactance of a 3.5-mH inductor equal to 10 ohm? I am not even sure what equations to use for these two questions. I know that for a the inductive reactance equation...- Kathi201
