How Fast Must a Rocket Travel to Witness Two Events 2400 km Apart?
Thanks - so the value of t is the Earth clock and I am solving for to. I get a value of .00848 seconds. This value makes more sense from what I have read.- Laxman2974

How Fast Must a Rocket Travel to Witness Two Events 2400 km Apart?
A firecracker goes off in Houston, Texas. A time 0.0133 seconds later as measured by synchronized Earth clocks, another firecracker goes off in Great Falls, Montana 2400 km away as measured on earth. a. How fast must a rocket ship travel if it is to be present at both events? b. What will...- Laxman2974

How Deep Does the Penny Appear in a Layered Liquid Tank?
Homework Statement A 15-mm-thick layer of water (n = 1.33) floats on a 60-mm-thick layer of carbon tetrachloride (n = 1.46) in a tank. A penny lies at the bottom of the tank. At what depth below the top water surface do you perceive the penny? (Hint: Use the result and assumptions of Problem...- Laxman2974

How Do You Calculate the Charge and Energy in a Mixed Capacitor Circuit?
Okay - let's go back to the begining, because I am messing up somewhere: C1 = 11microF C2 = 7microF C3 = 3microF Voltage across arrangement = 100V --------------------- C123 = C12 + C3 C12 = 1/(1/C1+1/C2) | | |...- Laxman2974

How Do You Calculate the Charge and Energy in a Mixed Capacitor Circuit?
Ok- so I solved for 1/c1 + 1/c2 = 233766.2338, plugged that into Q/V = 1/(1/Ceq) = 4.277e-4 to get the charge, is this charge on both capacitors or is it split over both.- Laxman2974

How Do You Calculate the Charge and Energy in a Mixed Capacitor Circuit?
No-the only thing I can figure is that I needed to find the capacitance of 1 and 2 together because they are in a series. I thought I did this by C12=Q/V = 1/c1 + 1/c2. With this combine capacitance I can then find the charge.- Laxman2974

How Does Charge Buildup Affect Satellites in Earth's Radiation Belts?
Space vehicles traveling through Earth's radiation belts can intercept a significant number of electrons. The resulting charge buildup can damage electronic components and disrupt operations. Suppose a spherical metallic satellite 0.9 m in diameter accumulates 2.2 µC of charge in one orbital...- Laxman2974
