Undergrad Particle interactions with matter
Thank you so much for your reply! I just have a few follow-up questions, if I may. Right. So, does this energy come from the interaction with the photon? So, in your opinion, do you think this is why it could be discussing this? Is it common for light particles (e.g. electrons) and heavily...- Mahavir

Undergrad Particle interactions with matter
Hello, Currently studying electromagnetic radiation and ionisation and a bit stuck on a concept. From what I think I've understood, an electromagnetic photon enters matter, and if the energy is > 10eV it will displace an electron causing it to ionise (and therefore moving out of the atom). This...- Mahavir

Graduate Understanding Decay Schemes to Interpreting Energy Levels and Symbols
Apologies for this question, but I'm trying to understand what I'm looking at here and was unable to find an answer online. From my understanding, this is a decay scheme that shows the percentage of each energy level at which the disintegrated mother nucleus has reached after the...- Mahavir

High School "A sharp sound is perceived as being more intense than low"
Thanks! It is in the context of a Physics course but tailored to medical students. The question posed was: "the level of intensity given (e.g. 90 dB) is perceived in the same manner, regardless of frequency. True or False." -
High School "A sharp sound is perceived as being more intense than low"
Hi everyone, Apologies for what may be a relatively obvious question for you but I'm struggling to understand a concept that was discussed in my introductory Physics class. I would really appreciate any help you could offer. During an explanation of sound, we were told today that a sharp sound... -
Intro Physics Physics textbook with metrology chapters
Hi everyone, For my intro to Physics class, I'm looking for a resource that has a wide variety of metrology questions that I could use to practice. Does anyone happen to have a good one off the top of their head, please? I could look elsewhere but I'm hoping someone's personal experience can...- Mahavir

Undergrad Medical Physics: the spine as a pivot
I would really appreciate your answer to my above query, please. -
Undergrad Medical Physics: the spine as a pivot
Hi A.T., Thank you for your reply. Oh, thank you. The lever arm of the Force T (spine) is a lot shorter than the lever arm of W and therefore in order for their torques to balance, the force exerted by T needs to be a lot higher than the weight. Is that correct? -
Undergrad Medical Physics: the spine as a pivot
Hi everyone, So, as I came across a point that I'm struggling to grasp and I was hoping someone here could kindly help me out. I've attached a diagram that describes the issue. T represents all the muscles acting on the spine; R is the force of the spine (pivot). Where I get confused is why... -
Chemistry A good introductory biochemistry book for medical school
Ah, lovely! Thank you :). My Professor actually recommended Leningher's book so I took it out of the library. I'll have a read through it. Thank you again! :)- Mahavir

Chemistry A good introductory biochemistry book for medical school
Hi, pinball1970. Thank you for your reply. I should have mentioned it in my initial post but I didn’t find the dummies book great. So you have any suggestions, perhaps?- Mahavir
