    Ok, I think I'm starting to get it. I can't really explain it yet, but my assumption was that the charge being "felt" by the 2nd electron in helium's orbitals (the one being removed) from the nucleus was equal to +1e. And then I also didn't think about the repulsion between the two electrons...
