Proof of the equality of men through induction.

Hey guys, I was wondering is it possible to prove the statement , that "All men are created equal" through the proof method of induction. If so how?, if not, why? I just don't know where to begin. This course is a killer. I am attending the Univeristy of Toronto for my first year and the...

A math book on introducing proofs(?)

Hey guys… and girls! I was just wondering if anyone knew of any good books that introduce the concepts and reasoning behind mathematical proofs, starting from the beginners level. (In high school my teachers did not emphasize proofs.) I would like this specifically to help me for first year...

Academic advice for a prospective physics student.

Hello everyone, I am a student living in Canada and I am in grade 12. We have finsihed applying for universities. Now the hard part is to decide which one to go to. (I'm thinking University of Toronto, Waterloo, Queens or Guelph). The main question I had is that I plan on going to grad school...

How High Will a Stone Rise If Thrown with 9.8 Joules of Kinetic Energy?

Hey arildno, Thanks a lot I appreciate it. I did something like that at first but not with the idea of law of conservation in mind, and so it did not make any sense. However, now it does. Thanks again! Take Care.

How High Will a Stone Rise If Thrown with 9.8 Joules of Kinetic Energy?

So does this mean we can use Eg=mgh. m= 0.35 kg g=9.8 Eg= 9.8 J , and so h= Eg/mg. Since kinetic energy is converted to potential energy, and energy is always conserved then potential energy is also 9.8 J?

How High Will a Stone Rise If Thrown with 9.8 Joules of Kinetic Energy?

I have a question that I must answer, and am finding it difficult to get. It is probably easy, my brain is just not functioning. It is higshchool physics question. Anyways how to get the answer and any advice would be great. Thanks! Question: Suppose a stone of mass 350 g is thrown straight...
