    Current in 3Phase, 4Wire System w/ 8 Loads

you will have current that neutralise any asymmetry in your load - in your case that is 1 load on A and B each. which is equal to 1 load on C if you think about vectors (absolute value). you will have 2 (kVA) / 0,22 (kV) = cca 10 A in neutral.

Can I Combine 50A and 30A Outputs on My Portable Generator?

trough 30 A connector you will have 40 A current, this is not good idea.

    230V 50Hz to 110V 60Hz (I've read the others)

he needs precision :) your idea is fine. also you don't have to worry about overheating as long you are below rated power of your mid-circuit equipment. rated power can be delivered constantly, by definition.

I don't understand how I am "calculating for the voltage drop"

if LED always "eats" 2 V on every current, other 7 V will have to be dissipated on internal resistance. current will rise until IxR_internal=7 V. on battery terminals you will actually measure 2 V, same as on diode terminals. this will be a large current which will destroy your LED in short...

Power Loss Calculation in Distribution Systems

etap can do it http://etap.com/index.htm also ABB NEPLAN, maybe, seek confirmation from someone else.

What Is the Best Generator for Small Scale Power Generation?

since you are going to be connected to a grid I think most suitable would be asynchronous generator: mainly because it is cheap - you don't need excitation system, the grid will provide excitation. it is same machine as motor, all you need is to spin it above its "synchronous speed" and power...

What is the function of Switchgear in Substation?

hello, take a look on this link: http://www.energy.siemens.com/hq/pool/hq/energy-topics/power%20engineering%20guide/PEG_70_KAP_03.pdf you have some typical single line diagrams for substations.main link to Guide...

How do I properly charge a VRLA battery?

thank you gtacs. this is a good resource. manufacturers documents are a bit confusing, i checked Sonnenschein and EnerSys websites. it seems that "boost" treatment is not needed for VRLA. that is fine with me, because i had some trouble with overvoltages: boost_voltage x number_of_cells >...

How do I properly charge a VRLA battery?

hello, pozdrav my question is about Valve Regulated Lead Acid battery. may i charge it only with "float" voltage (cca 2,25 Vpc) or do i have to "boost" it (2,4 Vpc) sometimes? if my battery gets discharged to 20% can i recharge it only with "float" voltage? i have capacity cca 150Ah...
