You are correct Halls, the sequence does eventually become all zeroes, but then repeats - a finite mathematic progression that overturns the Goedel theorem of numbers. That's why I enquire about a "prestigious" Journal.
A finite mathematic progression, an orderly and discrete progression of Base10 has been achieved. The progression (4 full pages) zeroes out and repeats itself interminably. What prestigious Journal might be recommended for submission of this work?
Excellent, Pervect...exactly the kind of info I'm looking for. Don't know what I'll do with it yet, but the concept of atmospheric refraction makes a whole new ballgame for me. As the poet advises, I do start with the sun.
Base 10 Anomaly
An applied 49-year study into the origin of pi and the Base 10 number system resulted in the finding of a highly anomalous formula. Essentially, the finding derives from the perfect ratios (0:1:1:2:3:4) given by Pythagoras who we know studied and perhaps taught in the...
Thanks`Ravenlock. My number is strictly speculative on my part. I wish to know what the determined vaiiation is between the polar and equatorial dimensions.
Thanks for the confirmation, but I'm not out of the woods yet on this, for the problem as originally given (project engineer) did state the total surface area, the tolerance being incidental. The PE is one of those who likes to throw these kinds of questions at us, just to keep us on our toes I...
The equation I would give is: sqrt area/sqrt pi = radius; thus, if an area 16 then 4/1.77245...= 2.2567...radius. r^2*pi = 16 area
I took a bit of abuse by contempories for this formula - wanted to hear what Y'all might think of it.
Cellulosic oil technology, developed in the UK, but stifled by the Crown\, is our best resource. Next best is "Turkey" fuel, recently developed in US looks to be 2nd best. Things are looking up on the energy front!
Integral, interesting that your number gives the oblateness as .0033 and that given by Ravenlock as 1.0033. In the meantime I have to stay with my figure of 1.00112915039 until given the time and headspace to figure it further. Thanks much.
