Which gas is used in cathode ray experiment by J.J. Thomson & Sir William?
The voltage they used was about: 15k-20k V
The pressure they used: < 0.1mm of Hg
The gas they used: ?
Does electrons contribute to nuclear force.?
As per name 'nuclear force', it shouldn't contribute. Even if it does it should be to a very little extent. right?
I read a sentence in my book saying,
The fast neutrons released through the first nuclear fission are passed into the moderator, thus producing (becoming) thermal neutrons.
What is a Thermal neutron?
What is the difference between Thermal and a Fast Neutron?
I was just reading this..
Free Neutron decays into proton, electron and neutrino.
neutron --> proton + electron + v (neutrino)
----
My Question:
Neutron is chargeless. How can it give proton and neutron which are charged ?
(If the question is simple i am sorry, I am new to nuclear physics)
Whatever, . . .
But i think the question is kinda interesting.
Here is my analysis..
1) Man made elements are very costly.
2) They are higher in atomic number and weight.
3) They are radio-active.
4) They are .. ?
Anything else?
Who said that's my homework??
It was a question in Yahoo answers..
