    Simple Potential Difference Question

Can someone help me to describe the differences between a 12V car battery and a 9V radio battery. They both convert chemical energy into electrical energy, but the car battery has the capacity for much higher currents with similar voltage to the 9V. Thanks

Does the Force Propelling a Spaceship Affect the Speed of Light Emitted from It?

This question is concerned with special relativity and relative velocity. If a spaceship is traveling at 2x10 eighth m/s and someone shines a laser straight ahead out the front of the ship. Suppose someone in front of the ship records the velocity of the light. Since the speed of light is the...

Why is F=mg equivalent to gravitational force at different altitudes?

I know but what I am saying is that the force of gravity in #2 above (40,000) feet above the Earth is closer to f=mg than example one at sea level. It would seem that the sea level calculation would be closer to f=mg.

Why is F=mg equivalent to gravitational force at different altitudes?

I am trying to figure out why F=mg corresponds to question number two below. First let's assume a object with mass 70kg and then calcutate the force of gravity in two different scenarios: Determine the force of gravitational attraction between the Earth (m = 5.98 x 1024 kg) and a 70-kg...

Medical Meditation Techniques for Achieving Spiritual Bliss - Robert

The practice you seek is called shikantaza. It is a zen buddhist word meaning to just sit. It is not meditation for one does not think, or concentrate on a sound or any visual images. One just sits... Remember what the old buddha said...practice every day no vacation...

Why Do Heavier Cars Roll Downhill Faster in a Soapbox Derby?

I am currently student teaching honors physics and while working on free fall a student asked me a question I could not fully answer. We were talking about Galileo's experiment using an incline plane and rolling balls in order to show that objects undergo uniform acceleration. I then...
