    Reasons for choosing square antenna?

I've read white papers claiming that square microstrip antennas have more desirable impedance matching characteristics and less side-lobe radiation than do circular microstrip antennas. Not wanting to repeat tedious simulation work to verify results, I simply apply the findings in faith. There...

Building a Diesel-Powered Car: Pneumatic Starter Questions

The apparatus at the dive shop is about the size of a small cargo van, and it takes a while to fill up.

Building a Diesel-Powered Car: Pneumatic Starter Questions

I have an 80 cubic foot scuba tank. That'll run your 500 CFM starter for about 9 seconds.

Can someone explain to me these equations of sound waves?

Do a dimensional analysis. You may find a (time)^-3 term, which is a hint. Just as a wild guess, try units for area for A... then look up the dimensions for power. Quite often, power ratios are expressed as a logarithm.

I How to remove Ethanol from Gasoline?

Molecular sieves. Ethanol in water is azeotropic. You'll have a hard time recovering the ethanol if you need it pure.

Circuit Board Design: Basics of Designing a PCB

Circuit design, and especially PCB design, is a sort of "black art", like Voodoo. Textbook circuit design methods are used to choose "what components to use", but experience will tell you which circuit "topology" will strongly depend on precise component values and parameters, and which are more...

Tiny Tweak in Teaching Basic Circuits

Demonstrate. Assign a different node as reference, assign it some ridiculous value (e^i*h maybe), rework the problem carrying the ridiculous term through all the arithmetic, and get the exact same answers.

Tiny Tweak in Teaching Basic Circuits

I don't think the choice of 0v for a reference node is insignificant. It sure makes the math less messy. EDIT: If you choose the right node.
