High School Rosetta's comet mission discussion thread
Hi all, It seems it bounced twice now. They're looking for it... http://www.esa.int/spaceinimages/Images/2014/11/Searching_for_Philae In the meanwhile, another picture was released, from 40 meters! :w http://www.esa.int/spaceinimages/Images/2014/11/Comet_from_40_metres- sym666

High School Can WorldWide Telescope Help View Gas Clouds, Star Systems, and Galaxies Online?
Hi I found this software quite nice: http://www.worldwidetelescope.org/ It's a client, so you have to download and install it. It offers the possibility to look at the sky at different wavelenghts, and you can also make videos. These kind of presentation are uploadable, so you can enjoy the...- sym666

High School How do you know if someone far away is walking towards you or away
As pointed out by others, it's not so immediate. For visual checks, aircrafts use lights of different color on the tipwings, so that one can easily determine its direction looking at them.- sym666

20 Questions: An Intelligence-Testing Game of Yes/No Questions
You'r all almost there! Take Micromass' staple, or Gad's keyring and shape it a little more. You need to shape it in 3D, not on a plane. A keyring could be considered my object, when it's compressed at its limit. Both the clip and the keyring anyway have something in common with my object :-)...- sym666

20 Questions: An Intelligence-Testing Game of Yes/No Questions
No, it's a single piece. A metallic segment, which you have to give a shape to. If you can't guess it, you can relax with a walk onto a mountain, and refresh yourself with a source of natural water... ;-)- sym666

Yes, it can be attached to other structures in many ways. It's a very common object, with an infinity of uses - sym666

20 Questions: An Intelligence-Testing Game of Yes/No Questions
Oh sorry! I just have to think about an object? Must it be related to physics? Anyway, I thought about something somehow tied to physics, but way less exotic than a black hole! :-p- sym666

Before you die, what do you want to see become a reality
I' d really like to be alive the day humankind will realize a journey to another star, but I believe it's unlikely to happen*. I sometimes ask myself if I would be prepare to leave Earth myself, if I were asked to do so. I don't know what my answer would be, but I like to think it'd be "Hell...- sym666

Investigating an Annoying Hum at Home
Hi Russ_watters, I haven't been writing much in the board, but I follow the forum from a long time. I feel the need to say this, because it's kind of weird, at least at first, to write to someone "you know", but he doesn't know you! I need a black and silent room too, when it's time...- sym666

Graduate Why Are Photons Reflected at the Same Angle They Are Absorbed?
Hi, this is the first time I post. English it's not my primary language, I apologize in advance for the certain mistakes I'm going to do. Nice to meet everybody :-) I've read "QED" by Richard Feynman, which I found I good book, surely you'll find an interpretation for the question you...- sym666
