Forensic analysis using Memory Dump
I'm in my second year in college and I've taken an Operating Systems course that has a project component. I've been assigned Memory Forensics as my project topic. On approaching the professor I was told that I need to attempt to attack the Linux Kernel ( I'm guessing that means I need to write...- takando12

B Forward Bias: Why does width of depletion layer decrease?
The depletion layer is formed by the movement of electrons from the n to p side and holes from p to n side of the diode. The layer consists of positively charged donor ions close to the n side and negatively charged acceptor ions close to the p side. When in equilibrium, the barrier potential...- takando12

Troubleshooting Thread Creation in PF App
I just got the physics forums app. I am logged in and am inside the desired forum but I cannot find any create thread button anywhere. I found a create new topic button, but it says I don't have the permission to create a topic inside this forum. I don't understand why as I am most definitely...- takando12

Electric field inside a non uniform spherical distribution.
Thank you, @SammyS and @Delta² for the legal and illegal solutions respectively. Alas, we don't learn lots of beautiful things in school. and @conscience for highlighting the daily horrors of the OP. We sometimes get petrified when we hear completely fresh concepts that we have never encountered...- takando12

What is the solution to the inverse trigonometry problem with a given range?
Finally... I shall summarize it again, please check if it's right. √(1-cos2θ) = +sin(θ) , as (π/3)≤θ≤0. This part is wrong, as the range of arccos is [0,π] and since (π/3)≤θ≤0, θ-(π/3) is -ve and I can write only the +ve (π/3)-θ. Just one more question. Why are the inequality signs being reversed?- takando12

What is the solution to the inverse trigonometry problem with a given range?
Yes, I get that, but even if sin θ is negative , it results in the final answer to be 2θ + (π/3). Which is 2cos-1(x) + (π/3). So considering both cases of sin(θ) being positive or negative doesn't give me the final answer as π/3. It seems as though the only way is to write this bit as, cos (...- takando12
