What Is the Maximum Value of Dv f(1,2) and Its Corresponding Direction v?
when u=-0.6i+0.8j, Du f(1,2)=? gradient f=(18,9) I use unit vector dot (-0.6,0.8) dotted with the gradient f, which turns out to be -3.6 so here is the question. A: the maximum value of Dv f(1,2) is=? B: this maximum occurs when v=(?,?) I'm confued with the Dv thing. For my guess is that I...- team31

Understanding Sound Interference
I'm having trouble with the interference of sound. As the given function of the combined Amplidude A=2Acos(PI*d*sin(θ)/λ), hence the interfernce max will be d*sin(θ)=n*λ, and min will be d*sin(θ)=(n+1/2)*λ. I chose my sound frequency and wavelength. so I figule out the nth max and nth min, but...- team31

Tension in rope between falling objects
Two point-lie objects, each with mass m, are connected by a massless rope of length l. The objects are suspened vertically near the surface of Earth, so that one object is hanging below the other. Then the objects are released. How can I find the tension in the rope? I know there 3 force...- team31

Find Center of Mass of Homogeneous Semicircular Plate
Find the center of mass of a homogeneous semicircular plate, let R be the radius of the circle. I have think I need to use ingergration to slove this problem, I'm stuck with that R is also changing as if I'm cutting little slices, so does that mean i have to set up two intergra, one for R solve...- team31

Proving the Relationship Between Projectile Motion Angles Using Graphs
Hi guys, I have a Homework problem that is related to Projectile Motion. It is said a projectile is fired form a surface(level ground) at an angle A, above the horizonal. so here is the question, there is another angle B, which reachs the same Max high with angel A, how can I prove that...- team31
