B Debunking Alleged proofs against modern science

Hello fellow PF'ers! I have been conversating with a strongly religious character for some time now, and thought i'd present some of his arguments to you. I have myself tried to explain the basics of the problems, but maybe some of you can have a laugh and go into further details as to why he...

Looking for a high accuracy 3D graphing program

i'ts not a surface, it's a parametric curve. 3 independent functions, one for each dimension.

Looking for a high accuracy 3D graphing program

Hi PF/math ! I've been searching for a program which will draw 3d parametric curves accurately for large variables, eg. f(10^8). Ive tried www.math.uri.edu and Ti-Nspire (the latter may or may not have a setting for the accuracy), but both tend to turn what should've been a smooth curve into an...

Describing elliptic orbit as a parametric function

The intended purpose of such a funktion is to predict lunar phenomena as accurately as possible, so the above shouldn't be a problem, but I realize that the "visual result" May not be very interesting.

Describing elliptic orbit as a parametric function

Would this method work for the aforementioned example with the moon orbiting the Earth while orbiting the sun (the latter considered a fixed point)? -Thank you for the detailed explanation by the way, very helpful indeed!

Describing elliptic orbit as a parametric function

What would such an iterative approach look like? So far I've tried Kepler II to define the area swept over by a line from the sun to the Earth during orbit. By using this argument to solve the radius as a function of time, a numerical approach returns values varying slightly from the expected...

Describing elliptic orbit as a parametric function

Hi PF I've beent rying to model the lunar orbit around the sun (cardioide) as a parametric function, but have run into a problem. f(t) = r(t) : x = a cos(ωt) y = b sin(ωt) z = k t The angular frequency ω as well as the distance from to the center varies around the orbit. Is...
